RING SIZE

What's your size?

For our own sanity- we've standardized our ring sizes on the American standard. In the United States, ring sizes are measured numerically, typically ranging from 3 to 13.5 for adults, including half sizes. Men's rings typically range from sizes 8 (18.2 mm) to 14 (23 mm).

The average ring size for men generally is between 10 and 11.

Obtaining an accurate measurement of your ring size can be achieved with the help of a ring size chart or even a simple piece of string. Before placing an order for a ring, take the time to familiarize yourself with these straightforward guidelines on measuring your ring size at home.

A Piece of String

  • Wrap a piece of floss or string around the base of your finger.
  • Use a pen to mark the point where the string overlaps.
  • Using a ruler or measuring tape, straighten the string and measure its length in millimeters.
  • Compare your measurement to the standard ring sizes on the ring size chart provided below.

Important Note:
Avoid pulling the string too tightly as it may stretch, leading to a larger measurement, which could result in purchasing rings too big for your finger.

A Size Chart
Follow these steps to measure your ring size accurately:

  • Locate a ring that fits you comfortably and accurately.
  • Print a ring size chart that is true to size.
  • Place your ring on the printed chart, aligning it with the circles provided, until you find the one that matches your inside circumference. By using this method, you can determine your ring size with precision.

A Ring Sizer
A dedicated ring-measurement tool is recommended for the most accurate measurement of your ring size. These tools are generally affordable and readily
available online. There are two main types of ring-sizing tools: a thin measuring tape or a keyring
with a range of ring sizes.

  • The measuring tape style ring sizer can be quickly wrapped around your finger and adjusted using a belt-like mechanism to tighten or loosen it.
  • The keyring type ring sizer features metal loops representing different ring sizes, allowing you to try them on until you find the perfect fit.

A ring sizer on hand can also be beneficial when shopping for rings for other family members, as it helps ensure accurate measurements.

Finding The Right Fit

The ideal fit for a ring provides both comfort and security. It should be snug enough to stay in place without slipping off yet loose enough to glide over your knuckle with moderate resistance. Striking the right balance ensures a comfortable fit for your ring.

Ring Sizing Tips
When measuring your ring size, consider the following tips:

  • Take your knuckle into account: If you have a larger knuckle, it's advisable to order a ring half a size larger than what your finger measurement suggests. This ensures your ring can slide comfortably over your
    knuckle and fit correctly.
  • Ensure accuracy with multiple measurements: It's recommended to measure your finger three to four times to ensure accuracy. Finger size can fluctuate based on temperature, with colder temperatures potentially resulting in a smaller size and warmer temperatures causing slight swelling.
  • Measure the specific finger intended for the ring: Remember that your ring finger size may vary between hands. Therefore, measuring the finger on which you plan to wear the ring most frequently is essential. This
ensures a comfortable and accurate fit.

Considering these pointers, you can obtain a more precise ring size measurement for a well-fitting ring.

WHAT'S MY RING SIZE?

WHAT'S HIS RING SIZE?

How can you discreetly determine someone's ring size? If you're aiming to surprise someone with a ring and need to find their size secretly, here are a few methods you can consider:

  • Observe their existing jewelry: Look at their jewelry collection to see if you can find a ring that they frequently wear on the intended finger. You can measure the ring's size using the ways described on
    this page.
  • Seek input from their friends and family: Reach out to individuals close to the person you're shopping for, as they might already know their ring size. Alternatively, if someone with a similar hand size is available, you can have them try on rings to determine the approximate size.
  • Opt for a larger size: If you need more certainty about the exact size, it's safer to choose a slightly larger ring than average. Later, you can have it resized for a perfect fit. Increasing the size of a small ring is more challenging than reducing the size, so it's advisable to err on the larger side.
WHAT'S THE RIGHT FIT?

How can you determine if a ring is too loose or too tight? A well-fitting ring should comfortably stay on the finger, even when turned upside down. Here are some indicators to determine if a ring is too loose or too tight:

  • Too loose: If a ring is excessively loose, it may easily slip off the finger when inverted. It's essential for a ring to provide a secure fit to avoid accidental loss.
  • Too tight: A too-tight ring can be challenging to remove over the knuckle or may leave indentations on the finger after removal. In extreme cases, a tight ring can cause discomfort, restrict circulation, or cause the finger to swell.

Finding the right balance is vital, as a ring should fit snugly without being uncomfortably tight or riskily loose.

WHY ALL THE DIFFERENT RING SIZES?

If you’re outside of North America (USA, Mexico & Canada)

We have developed a convenient reference chart to assist our international customers in determining their US ring size. This chart encompasses the most used ring sizing systems worldwide. While not every country has its unique ring sizing system, most employ one of the seven widely recognized systems in our chart. We provide a comprehensive explanation of each ring size system type.

  • The UK Ring Size System is widely adopted in Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa.
  • The European Ring Size System is prevalent in numerous EU countries including France, Scandinavia, and Russia. It is also possible that other countries utilize this system, which is based on the metric system.
  • As implied by its name, the German Ring Size System is primarily employed in Germany, although it is also utilized in other European countries. Surprisingly, it is even adopted in non-European nations like Argentina.
  • The Brazilian Ring Size System is predominantly utilized in Brazil and potentially in some neighboring countries in South America. This distinctive sizing system is specific to the region.
  • The Japanese Ring Size System finds widespread usage in East and Southeast Asian countries such as China, Korea, Singapore, and Hong Kong. It is also adopted in South American countries like Peru and Bolivia.
  • The Swiss Ring Size System, initially developed by the Swiss, extends its usage beyond Switzerland and is also adopted in other European countries like Spain. Moreover, due to the Swiss jewelry industry's global influence, it may also be employed in various non-European countries.
